On March 14, many states were hit hard by Winter Storm Stella. Our sister blood center in northeast Pennsylvania, LifeSource, experienced a record snowfall of more than 30 inches, with more on the way. Because of this, mobile blood drives were cancelled in their area.

LifeSource Pennsylvania delivered as much blood as possible to its local hospitals before Winter Storm Stella, but now the center is dealing with the storm’s aftermath. To avoid interruption to patient care and treatment, LifeSource Pennsylvania needs to replenish their blood supply to safe levels. With your support, we’re prepared to help. Please consider donating blood within the next couple of days to help patients served by our sister center who were impacted by this winter storm.

Whole blood and double red cell donations are in need from those with Rh negative blood types. Platelets, which only have a shelf life of five days, are especially needed and typically requested of those with Rh positive blood types.

Thank you for stepping up to not only maintain our local blood supply, but to help supplement the blood supply of our sister blood bank. Find a nearby community donor center or mobile blood drive near you.
