Donor
Criteria
Blood donors must be at least 17 years old (16 with signed parental
consent), weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in generally good health. Proper
ID is required to donate blood. A Central Blood Bank or military ID,
driver’s license, or employee badge with picture and full name are all
approved forms of ID.
Central Blood Bank
Established in 1951, Central Blood Bank is a Pittsburgh-based not-for-profit
organization providing blood products and related transfusion services to
hospitals in Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Crawford, Mercer, and
Washington Counties in Pennsylvania, as well as selected communities in
