Summer’s a busy time – school’s out and summer activities, vacations and summer jobs keep you busy. For many of the same reasons, summer is a time when blood donations are down.

The need for blood, however, often increases in the summer. There are always cancer patients undergoing treatment. The number of car accidents increases. Summer is trauma season for hospital emergency rooms.

We’re encouraging you to continue the commitment you may have started at your local high school blood drives and give a pint (or two) this summer.

Visit one of our community donor centers or fixed mobile sites from June 1 through August 15, 2017, and as a thank-you for saving the lives of local patients, our partners at Klavon’s in the Strip District are offering a free pint of ice cream to all participating 17- and 18-year-old donors.

* 17-year-olds, please remember to bring a signed parental consent form with you if you will not be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The form can be downloaded and printed here.

Beat the heat, save some lives and feel good all around!

To schedule an appointment, call 1-866-DONORS-1 (1-866-366-6771) register here or download the free Central Blood Bank Donor Mobile App by visiting the Apple App Store  or Google Play store..
