In the US, several facilities have fully implemented ISBT 128 and many more are in the process of converting. Two examples of large scale implementations are The Community Blood Center of Kansas City along with the hospitals it serves, and St. Luke's Episcopal Health System transfusion service and donor center in Houston. In the process of implementation are BloodSource in Sacramento, Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center in Houston, Indiana Blood Center in Indianapolis, Virginia Blood Services in Richmond. Puget Sound Blood Center in Seattle and Florida Blood Services in Tampa. Additionally, the Stem Cell Laboratory and Carolinas Cord Blood Bank at Duke University Medical Center and a number of Red Cross regions have implemented ISBT 128 for HPC products. In other sectors, almost all military facilities have implemented ISBT 128 while still more military installations are in the process of implementing.
