Marrow Banner 1

Every three minutes, someone is diagnosed with a blood cancer like leukemia. For many patients, a marrow transplant is the only life-saving treatment—their only chance for a cure. And nearly 70 percent of patients do not have a match within their own family.

Central Blood Bank has partnered with Be the Match®, the largest registry of potential marrow donors, to reach more patients in need.

Join the Registry

Joining the registry is simple. It involves providing a cheek swab, completing a consent form and making a commitment to patients in need. You can easily sign up at one of our community donor centers. Contact Lisa Maloney at lmaloney@itxm.org or 412.209.7198 to schedule a time to join.

You can also start the process online by clicking here.

To join in person, you need to:

-   Be between the ages of 18 and 44
–   Be willing to donate to any patient in need
–   Meet the health guidelines

Host a Drive

You can host a blood drive, a bone marrow registry drive or both together at your workplace, community center, place of worship or college. By hosting a drive, you’re bringing someone closer to a better tomorrow!  To learn more, email Lisa Maloney at lmaloney@itxm.org. Let her know you’d like more information about hosting a drive.
