Why did you develop this new program?

The demand for blood in our region continues to grow.  Central Blood Bank must collect more than 200,000 units of blood each year to meet the transfusion needs of local patients.  Our current deficit is approximately 40,000 units.

The Brighten Life program asks eligible donors to donate blood quarterly to ensure an adequate and stable blood supply for the hospitals, and their patients, serviced by Central Blood Bank.  Our most valuable resources are blood donors – those willing to brighten the lives of others through quarterly blood donations.  Every donor can save up to 12 lives a year by donating quarterly.  Program members receive meaningful recognition and benefits for their dedication and lifesaving commitment.
